Convicted rapist treated after possible suicide try

Convicted rapist Jeremy Quinn, Jr., was released yesterday from St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated after he apparently attempted to commit suicide in the Lucas County jail, authorities said.

Jim O Neal, jail administrator, said Quinn, 23, was taken to the hospital about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday after he purportedly swallowed cleaning fluid in the jail. Quinn was on suicide watch at the time.

Quinn was found guilty Tuesday on six counts of rape and one count of kidnapping for the abduction and sexual assaults on a 16-year-old Sylvania Township girl.

The teenager was attacked at knifepoint July 18 in the driveway of her home and taken by Quinn to a secluded area and raped.
