5 teenagers charged in Point Place vandalism

A man and four boys were charged in warrants yesterday with vandalism for an incident last month in which the Point Place post office, two of its trucks, and two adjacent buildings were spray-painted with graffiti and sustained other damage.

Police initially listed the crime as gang-related, but investigators said it was not. It was just a group of kids spray-painting and doing damage.

They charged Jeremy Wilson, 18; two 14-year-olds; two 15-year-olds, and a 17-year-old, all of Toledo, for the Nov. 25 crime. One of the 14-year-olds also was charged with petty theft. The five were not in custody last night.

They are accused of spray-painting the post office, 4445 North Summit St.; Bay Wash, 4465 North Summit, and Marina Plaza, 4441 North Summit. Four floodlights were stolen from the post office, and two mirrors on postal service trucks were broken, police said.
