A man armed with a handgun yesterday robbed a West Toledo bank branch, taking an undisclosed amount of money that was in several cash drawers and fleeing in a car, authorities said.

The man, brandishing the chrome handgun, entered the National City Bank branch, 1831 West Laskey Rd., about 10:15 a.m. and ordered all customers and employees to the floor. He vaulted the counter and took money from the cash drawers.

He fled in the car through the Miracle Mile shopping center parking lot, authorities said.
