3 arrested, 7 pounds of marijuana seized

About seven pounds of marijuana, with a street value of about $9,700, were seized Tuesday when police arrested a fugitive in a house in North Toledo.

Doc Reardon, 21, who was wanted by police on escape charges from March, was arrested on that warrant and also charged with obstructing official business. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

Police received information Mr. Reardon was staying somewhere on East Manhattan Boulevard. After checking several license plates on the street, they found one belonging to Mr. Reardon's brother at 1310 East Manhattan Blvd., the home of their mother, Elsie Reardon.

When police approached the duplex, they heard men talking and saw Mr. Reardon in the kitchen. But when police knocked on the door, Mr. Reardon ran to another room and another man, Joshua Reichow, 23, put a microwave stand and minibike in front of the door and shut off the lights, police said.

After warning they would enter the home by force, police did and found 50 bags of marijuana in plain view in Ms. Reardon's bedroom, where she allegedly was pretending to be asleep. Another 26 bags of marijuana packaged to sell and two scales also were found, police said.

Ms. Reardon was arrested for possession of drugs, drug trafficking, drug paraphernalia, and obstructing official business. She was released from the jail Wednesday on her own recognizance.

Mr. Reichow was charged with obstructing official business and released from the jail Wednesday after he posted a $50 bond.

The Reardons will appear in Toledo Municipal Court on Wednesday; Mr. Reichow's next court appearance will be Feb. 22.
