West Toledo man injured in attack on Dorr Street

A West Toledo man was hurt yesterday when he said he was attacked by three men while jogging in the 3400 block of Dorr Street, near Byrne Road.

Dustin Birkenkamp, 22, of College Drive was treated at Toledo Hospital for cuts on his forearms, right cheek, and left leg, police said.

He was found just before 1 a.m. about 75 feet from Dorr down the bank of a stream.

Mr. Birkenkamp said he was jogging when the men knocked him to the ground, went through this pockets, and asked him for money. He got up, ran a short distance, but was knocked down again.

The suspects again asked for money, police said.

One of the suspects then took the victim s pocketknife and cut him, while another wrestled with him. The suspects picked him up, carried him across Dorr, and threw him into a ditch, police said.
