Student arraigned in tire-slashings

BOWLING GREEN - Police arrested a Bowling Green State University student early Sunday on charges he slashed 50 tires on 22 parked vehicles.

Andrew Bauman, 20, was charged with criminal damaging, underage under the influence, and obstructing official business. He was released on his own recognizance following an arraignment in Bowling Green Municipal Court yesterday.

According to police reports, tires were slashed in the 100 and 200 blocks of Troup Avenue and in a parking lot at 724 East Wooster St. Responding to a call about 5:20 a.m. Sunday by a witness, police spotted the suspect and chased him on foot before arresting him.
