Fire yesterday caused about $35,000 damage to a Perrysburg Township home, authorities said.

Tammy Renner returned home to 10602 Eckel Junction Rd. about 3:15 p.m. and heard a smoke detector going off and the two-story, three-bedroom home filled with smoke, township Fire Chief Michael Dimick said.

Firefighters were called to the house and got the fire under control in about 15 minutes, he said.

The blaze was contained to an upstairs bedroom, but the second story had smoke and heat damage, the chief said.

The fire was ruled accidental and its cause was believed to have been electrical in nature, the chief said.
