Body of man found near dock in river
4/13/2006The body of an unidentified man was found floating against a dock in the Maumee River at International Park in East Toledo yesterday.
A rowing team that went to put a boat in the water about 6:45 a.m. found the body, which was pulled out by firefighters, Steve Kahle, a Lucas County coroner's investigator, said.
He said the partially-clothed body was in a state of decomposition.
Authorities have a tentative identification on the body and believe it is an adult man. An autopsy is scheduled for today. Toledo police are looking through missing persons reports and will try to identify the man through fingerprints.
Authorities are investigating how the man died, but foul play is not suspected at this time.
