2 Michigan men held in bogus bills case

Two Michigan men arrested last week after being accused of passing counterfeit currency are to have preliminary hearings Thursday in Perrysburg Municipal Court.

Martel DeAngelo Mattox, 22, of Detroit, and Derrick Phillip Ingram, Jr., 20, of Pontiac, were charged with three counts each of forgery.

Mr. Mattox also was charged with two counts of theft and Mr. Ingram with one count each of theft and obstruction of official business.

Both men were being held in the Wood County jail - Mr. Mattox in lieu of $94,500 bond and Mr. Ingram in lieu of $86,000 bond.

Perrysburg Township police arrested them Wednesday after receiving reports that counterfeit $50 and $100 bills were used tthroughout the day Wednesday at several businesses along U.S. 20 in the township and in the city of Perrysburg.
