A local businessman was arrested yesterday and charged with driving impaired through a Perrysburg subdivision where he lives and damaging property, authorities said.

Christopher Frick, 38, of 25976 Edinborough Circle, was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to control, police said. He was free on bond last night and is to appear in Perrysburg Municipal Court.

About 6:30 p.m., witnesses saw a pickup truck hit several trees, mailboxes, and signs on Edinborough, Carrington Boulevard, and Stonehaven Drive in the Carrington Woods subdivision, police said.

Officers were called to the area and found the suspected truck at Mr. Frick's home, where they took him into custody. He refused a blood-alcohol test, police said.

Mr. Frick is the former co-owner of Jed's Barbeque & Brew restaurants.
