Five men were arrested yesterday afternoon two hours after they robbed a 38-year-old man in his central Toledo home, authorities said.

The men charged with aggravated burglary were: George Mitchell, 40, of 1123 Avondale Ave.; Tyvaon Cavanaugh, 20, of 1336 Avondale Ave.; Qvouondo Davis, 18, of 1905 Georgia Ave.; Brian King, 22, of 206 Brand Whitlock Homes, and Christopher Savage, 20, of 619 South St.

They were booked into the Lucas County jail last night pending arraignment today in Toledo Municipal Court.

About 2 p.m., the men threw a brick into the home of Robert Reed in the 1300 block of Avondale and then forced their way inside, Toledo police Sgt. Richard Murphy said.

Mr. Mitchell pointed a gun at Mr. Reed s head and told him they were going to rob him and they wanted him to sell drugs for them, Sergeant Murphy said. The men also assaulted him, he said.

After taking undisclosed items from the Reed home, the men left in a stolen white SUV with a Michigan license plate, which was found about 4 p.m. near the corner of Pinewood Avenue and Heston Street, police said.

Witnesses told police the men were inside 1102 Heston St. and when police entered, they found a large amount of money, the handgun used in the robbery, a sawed-off shotgun, and a large amount of drugs, Sergeant Murphy said.
