A Sylvania credit union was robbed yesterday of an undisclosed amount of money by a man with a handgun who jumped over the counter and grabbed the cash from a teller s drawer, authorities said.

A man wearing black clothing, white shoes, a hood, and something covering his face, entered the Great Lakes Credit Union, 5823 Monroe St., about 9:40 a.m. and pointed a handgun at employees, police said.

The man was described as black, more than 6 feet tall, with a stocky build.

He fled in a burgundy 1990 Oldsmobile that was reported stolen in Toledo March 28.

The car was recovered later yesterday a block away from the credit union.
