An 11-year-old boy was hurt seriously yesterday when he was hit by a car while riding his bike across Starr Avenue near his East Toledo home, authorities said.

Bryon Houston, of 361 Lemert St., was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with head injuries and a broken right leg, Toledo Police said.

A spokesman at St. Vincent said she had no information on a patient by that name.

Young Houston was riding his bike about 5 p.m. when he crossed Starr near Lemert in front of a car being driven west on Starr by Brian Tobias, 28, of 934 East Broadway. Young Houston was hit and thrown onto the hood of the car, police said.

No charges have been filed as police continue to investigate the accident.
