An elderly man who police said is a registered sexual predator was arraigned yesterday after he was caught exposing and fondling himself in a West Toledo store.

Romulus Louis Neda, 79, of 2117 Ashland Ave., No. 1, was charged with two counts of public indecency, both misdemeanors.

He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond after arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court, where he pleaded not guilty.

A 55-year-old woman, her daughter, and granddaughter were in Hobby Lobby, 5329 Monroe St., when they saw Neda with his pants down fondling himself about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Jail officials said Neda is being held on a parole violation on a conviction for assault on a child.
