A former employee of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury, charged with stealing more than $7,000 in fees from the jail s electronic monitoring program.

David Thomas, 49, of Napoleon, was indicted on one count of grand theft. He was an electronic monitoring specialist assigned from the Toledo Police Department s northwest district station.

He is accused of stealing the fees that inmates paid for monitors upon their release from jail. Investigators said he put the money into his personal bank account.

He was terminated in December.
