Seven trays of diamond rings with a total value of $25,000 were stolen from Zales Diamond Store in Westfield Franklin Park after two thieves distracted employees and a third removed keys from a safe and unlocked a display case.

As the employees helped two of the thieves a man and a woman the third thief, a man, entered the store and went to the safe about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

He took the keys, crawled behind the counter, unlocked the case, and took the trays, police said.
