6/6/2006

A 22-year-old central Toledo man was seriously hurt yesterday when he was shot in the head during a gang-related incident in the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue, police said.

Jerome Saxon was in critical condition at Toledo Hospital, police said, but a hospital spokesman said she had no information on a patient by his name.

Events that led to the shooting began earlier at the Blueprint Sports Bar and Lounge, 1919 Monroe St., and continued on Lincoln, where several cars drove past a house where several people were on the porch.

Mr. Saxon was in the driver s seat of one of the cars, police said.

Investigators believe some of the people on the porch came down toward the street and the victim was shot.

The car went around the corner and crashed into a pole at Oakwood and Smead, where officers found him about 3 a.m., police said.
