A Toledo man accused of shooting another man in the head last week turned himself into police yesterday and is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

Antoine Tuggle, 22, of 4337 Debra Ct., surrendered about 3:30 a.m., and a few hours later was arraigned on a felonious assault charge in Toledo Municipal Court.

He is accused of shooting Jerome Saxton, 22, of Toledo, who police said was in critical condition at Toledo Hospital. Police said events that led to the shooting began at a near-downtown bar and continued in the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Several cars drove past a house where several people were on the porch. The victim was in the driver s seat of a car when some of the people on the porch came toward the street, and the victim was shot. The car went around the corner and crashed into a pole at Oakwood and Smead avenues, where police found the victim.
