LIMA, Ohio - A Lima man indicted by an Allen County grand jury on a charge of aggravated murder for allegedly stabbing his friend was ordered held yesterday on $250,000 bond.

Andre Thomas pleaded not guilty before Allen County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Reed.

Mr. Thomas, who was being held in the Allen County jail last night, called police June 18 to say he'd returned home to find his friend, Quincy Chitman, 32, dead in his West Elm Street apartment. He told officers Mr. Chitman had spent the night as he sometimes did and was in the apartment when Mr. Thomas left for work about 5 a.m. Sunday.

An autopsy showed Mr. Chitman had been stabbed or cut at least 35 times.
