Point Place McDonald s is robbed by gunman

A man with a handgun robbed a fast-food restaurant in Point Place yesterday and assaulted several people, sending one to the hospital.

The robber entered McDonald s, 5210 North Summit St., about 5:40 a.m., herded three employees into the office, and hit them about the head with his fist or the gun as he told them to get on the floor, police said.

One employee was ordered to open the safe, and the suspect took money from the cash register drawers.

He is believed to have taken about $400.

He told the employees not to look at him or he would shoot them, adding, Tell Omar thanks.

The robber fled out the front door, where he encountered Michelle Faylor, 45, who he hit and threw to the ground. He then fled south across the parking lot.

Ms. Faylor was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center for an injury to her left elbow, authorities said.
