A man impersonating a police detective has been calling area pizza stores, saying he is conducting a credit card investigation, Toledo police said yesterday.

Marco's Pizza reported to police Wednesday that several of its Toledo stores received a phone call from the man, who said he was a city police detective and needed customers' credit card numbers.

A police report indicates the suspect also called an Oregon store and said he was an Oregon detective.

An investigator said Gino's Pizza received a similar call but did not file a police report.
