Three businesses in Lucas County were robbed at gunpoint Friday night, and authorities are investigating whether the crimes are related.

The first occurred about 10 p.m. when two men robbed the Burger King, 6630 Airport Hwy., in Springfield Township. They entered through the back door, ordered the four employees to the floor, and took an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and each of the employees, Lucas County sheriff's Sgt. Bobby Leist said.

Marco's Pizza, 3678 Rugby Drive, was robbed about 11:10 p.m. when two men entered with handguns and demanded the employees open the safe, which contained only change because employees had just made a cash deposit. The men then took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and fled, Toledo police said.

About 11:45 p.m., two men entered Lewis Carryout, 4252 Lewis Ave., and one pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money from the cash register. The men fled after getting an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

In each instance, the suspects were described as black, wearing dark clothing, and bandanas over their faces.
