  • Two men with handguns robbed a South Toledo bank this morning, and one of them fired a shot while his accomplice jumped over the counter.

The masked men entered Charter One Bank, 1460 South Byrne Rd., about 9:30 a.m., authorities said.

One robber went to the area where the manager was seated and fired a shot, which police said went through a window. The other jumped the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the teller drawers.

The robbers fled out a door to the parking lot, where a dye pack in the money given the suspects exploded. They fled in a red or maroon, four-door sedan, authorities said.

Both suspects are black, in their 20s, and wearing black clothing. The robber who fired the shot stood 5 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches tall and had a thin build. His accomplice stood 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall and had a medium build.
