2 more sheriffs sign on to mutual aid agreement

7/25/2006

BRYAN The sheriffs of Williams County in Ohio and DeKalb County, Indiana, have signed a mutual aid package that expands a reciprocal law enforcement aid agreement signed last month between Steuben County in Indiana and Michigan s Hillsdale County, it was announced yesterday.

Each county will bear its own costs for the aid.

Williams County Sheriff Kevin Beck said he initiated the pact last year after meeting with the sheriffs of the other three counties to review each agency s equipment and resources.

Williams and Hillsdale counties have mounted horse divisions and can call on each other for dog usage.
