Decomposed body found in Dundee Township

7/25/2006

DUNDEE, Mich. A decomposed body was found yesterday in a patch of overgrown weeds along a rural road in Dundee Township, Monroe County sheriff s officials said.

A bicyclist found the body about 3:30 p.m. along Dunbar Road, near where it dead-ends into the east side of U.S. 23.

Authorities suspect the body is that of an adult male, but are awaiting the results of an autopsy to be performed by the Wayne County coroner in Detroit.

No cause of death was apparent; the body s clothing was all present, authorities said.

It was not known how long the body was in the weeds. But given the state of decomposition, authorities said it could have been weeks.
