Lorenzo Curry was working at a central Toledo barber shop when someone walked in and asked why he was on television.

Curry replied that the person on the show America's Most Wanted looked like him, but it wasn't. A short time later, he left the shop.

That was Saturday and he hasn't been seen since, U.S. deputy marshal Rodney Hartzell said yesterday.

"He shut his phone off and left his stuff at his apartment," said Mr. Hartzell, a member of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

"After the broadcast, I received three quick calls saying he's a barber at Bancroft and Clinton streets," Mr. Hartzell said.

The task force is looking for the 32-year-old Chicagoan, who has been on the run for four years with his girlfriend and their 4-year-old daughter. He is wanted in Louisville for conspiracy to commit check counterfeiting. His girlfriend also is a fugitive in the case, Mr. Hartzell said.

Curry, who goes by "T" or "Chicago," lived with Janora Sanders and their daughter, Aalyiha, in the 2000 block of Collingwood Boulevard. All three are gone, taking only a laptop computer, Mr. Hartzell said. They are believed to have lived in Toledo one to two years and may still be in the area, he said.

Ms. Sanders sometimes goes by "Trish" and "Patricia," the deputy marshal said, adding that Curry was reportedly seen Sunday night at a gas station at I-475 and Monroe Street. He doesn't have a driver's license and people drive him around.

America's Most Wanted's Web site lists six aliases for Curry. He has prior convictions for armed robbery and domestic violence, Mr. Hartzell said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Curry, his girlfriend, and their daughter can anonymously call the Toledo Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111. Callers may be eligible for a reward.
