Toledo man denies role in porn, abuse allegations

A Toledo man accused of molesting a boy and possessing child pornography on his home computer was arraigned yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Charles Doneghy appointed attorney Merle Dech to represent Dennis Sibberson, who was indicted last week on five counts each of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and gross sexual imposition.

Mr. Dech entered not-guilty pleas to each of the charges in the 10-count indictment on behalf of Mr. Sibberson, 38, of 545 Pasadena Blvd. A trial was scheduled for Oct. 25.

Police said more than 6,000 pictures of child pornography, including 100 images of the 15-year-old victim, were found on the defendant's computer during a police search in May.

Investigators are working with the national Center for Missing and Exploited Children in an attempt to identify some other children.

Lori Olender, an assistant county prosecutor, said the victim told authorities he was sexually abused over a six-year period between the ages of 6 and 12.

Judge Doneghy ordered Mr. Sibberson held in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
