A man from West Toledo was arraigned this morning in Toledo Municipal Court on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the Sept. 20 death of Calvin Johnson.

Robbie R. Chasteen, 36, of 5640 Clover Lane, was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. Toledo police arrested him at 12:15 this morning.

Police said the suspect was in the area of Earl and Butler streets attempting to purchase drugs when he allegedly became involved in a struggle with Mr. Johnson, 23. Mr. Chasteen drove off with Mr. Johnson clinging to the side of his vehicle.

The driver failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another vehicle, causing Mr. Johnson to fall to the ground from the vehicle.
