Razor blade found in Fostoria candy

FOSTORIA - It appeared to be a safe Halloween last night for the trick-or-treaters in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, with only one complaint to police in Fostoria, authorities reported.

A parent of a 6-year-old girl told authorities a loose razor blade was found about 7:30 p.m. in her bag of candy, police said. The family was unsure when or where it was placed in her bag, police said.

Authorities reminded parents to check all candy children received on Halloween for signs of tampering before they allow the youths to eat the treats.
