BOWLING GREEN A man was arrested yesterday after a three-hour standoff with Wood County sheriff s deputies at his Plain Township home, authorities said.

Phil Harris, 35, was charged with inducing panic and was being held in the Wood County Justice Center pending arraignment in Bowling Green Municipal Court. Additional charges are pending, Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said.

Authorities were called to Mr. Harris home on Georgetown Drive about 11:50 a.m. on a report of a man with a gun. When they arrived, Mr. Harris was threatening suicide by pointing the gun at his head and also threatening to entice officers to kill him, the sheriff said.

Two women initially were inside the home with Mr. Harris, but they were quickly evacuated, Sheriff Wasylyshyn said.

After about three hours, the sheriff s special-response team took Mr. Harris into custody with nonlethal force, the sheriff said.
