Larry White, the executive director of the Anne Grady Center who was charged with public indecency in a sting operation this summer at Secor Metropark, yesterday pleaded no contest to an amended charge of disorderly conduct.

Mr. White, 61, of Swanton is to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 12 in Sylvania Municipal Court. The fourth-degree misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail and a $250 fine.

During a trial last month on the public indecency charge, a hung jury was declared because it could not reach a verdict.

Mr. White, who has been the executive director of the Anne Grady Center since 1998, was among six men arrested for public indecency in the sting at Secor Metropark. Since the arrest, Mr. White has continued to work at the center, located in Holland, that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities.

John Syx, a member of the Anne Grady Center board, said yesterday that the board's executive committee is scheduled to meet Dec. 20. Board members were being notified late yesterday afternoon about Mr. White's no-contest plea to disorderly conduct. It will be up to the board to decide whether to call a special meeting to discuss the matter, Mr. Syx said.

Mr. White notified the board this week that he plans to take a week of vacation beginning Monday, Mr. Syx said.
