Clues sought in assault at Jeep

12/2/2006

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about an assault in which a man was injured while he was working at the Jeep plant in North Toledo.

Michael Davis, 55, of Sylvania Township was found bleeding from the head Sept. 22 on the floor of the energy center inside the new plant, 4400 Chrysler Dr., police said.

His family told police he has been at Jeep for more than 31 years and transferred to the new plant about a month before he was found injured. He was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and is undergoing rehabilitation, police said.

Mr. Davis does not know how he was injured. Investigators said his injuries are not from a slip-and-fall or considered the result of an industrial accident.

No one who was inside the energy center saw anyone enter and there is no video for police to review. Police have no leads on a suspect.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
