Two South Toledo boys have been charged in a Springfield Township carryout robbery in which a clerk ran after the suspects, catching and holding one of them until authorities arrived, according to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office.

The boys, ages 14 and 15, were charged with delinquency in connection with aggravated robbery.

They are accused in the holdup of the McCord Carryout, 6801 Nebraska Ave., about 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, sheriff's Lt. Bobby Leist said yesterday.

The 15-year-old allegedly flashed a handgun and demanded money, but he and his accomplice ran from the store without getting any cash. A clerk went through another door at the business and chased the teenagers, catching the 14-year-old and holding him until deputies arrived, the lieutenant said.

He said the 15-year-old was arrested without incident yesterday afternoon at the boy's home.

Authorities are investigating whether the teenagers were involved in any other heists.
