FBI looking for sender of threatening letter

12/23/2006

The Toledo FBI is trying to determine who sent a threatening letter to its office that contained a substance the federal agency later determined to be harmless.

The letter arrived at the office, 420 Madison Ave., through the U.S. mail Thursday afternoon, said Scott Wilson, a special agent with the Cleveland FBI office.

He said yesterday that the agency is following up on leads and that no one has been charged. Toledo police said the letter contained powder.
