2 men shot at home in Toledo's south end

Two men were taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with gunshot wounds early this morning during an incident at a home at 255 Leland Ave.

Carlson Brown, 32, who resides at that address, was shot in the leg. Michael Knowles, 17, of Nevada Street, East Toledo, was shot once in the stomach, police said.

Mr. Brown told police two unknown men entered his home atbout 1:50 a.m. today through a side window, shot him and left. The reason for the shooting remains under investigation.

Mr. Brown was taken to St. Vincent by Life Squad, but his injury was not considered life-threatening. He was admitted and is reported to be in good condition.

While police were at St. Vincent investigating the first victim, they were told a second gunshot victim had been brought to the hospital. They later learned Mr. Knowles was also at the Leland Avenue address when he was shot.

Mr. Knowles underwent surgery and no further information was immediately available about this condition.

Police said an investigation into the shootings is continuing.
