Bowling Green investigates officer over hunting violation

BOWLING GREEN City police are reviewing whether an officer cited for improperly tagging a deer killed during hunting season violated any department policies.

Officer Kristopher Garman, 29, of Bowling Green, who joined the police department in February, 2002, pleaded guilty and paid a $160 fine and court costs Dec. 22 in Bowling Green Municipal Court after he was cited by a state wildlife officer for the Nov. 29 offense.

Bowling Green Police Lt. Tony Hetrick said an internal affairs investigation is under way to determine whether the officer breached the department s code of conduct or other policies.
