A man and a 17-year-old boy were shot yesterday at the man's home in South Toledo.

Carlson Brown, 32, of 255 Leland Ave. was in good condition at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his leg. Michael Knowles of East Toledo was more seriously hurt with a gunshot wound in his stomach, police said. A St. Vincent hospital spokesman said she had no information on a patient by his name.

Mr. Brown told police two unknown men broke through a side window, charged into his bedroom, and yelled for him to get down about 1:45 a.m. One of the men fired a shot, striking him in his lower left leg. Both suspects then jumped out the window and ran, police said.

Witnesses told police they awoke to yelling and heard shots fired, then saw the men escape through the window.

While at the hospital investigating Mr. Brown's shooting, police learned young Knowles was shot at the Leland location. Police are investigating why he was there and a motive. No one has been charged.
