17-year-old youth shot; teen is held

A 17-year-old boy was shot last night at 1124 Hamilton St. near North Hawley Street in central Toledo, and another juvenile taken into custody a short time later was expected to be charged with felonious assault, police said.

The victim, whose name was being withheld, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. His condition was not available late last night.

The gunman, whose name also was being withheld, was being questioned by police and then was to be charged, Sgt. Bill Wauford said.

The shooting occurred about 7:10 p.m. in the house, where the gunman was arrested. The victim was found in the kitchen with gunshot wounds caused by a single bullet, which went through his arm, abdomen, and through his other arm, Sergeant Wauford said.
