Police investigate homicide in North Toledo
3/9/2007Toledo police are investigating a homicide after Lavar Bey, 24, of Toledo, was found dead inside a sport utility vehicle on I-75 north by the Berdan Avenue exit about 3 a.m. this morning.
Authorities also are investigating a shooting in the 900 block of Post Street to find out whether it is related to the homicide. The man shot at the Post location is being treated at Toledo Hospital.
Mr. Bey, who was found slumped in the driver s seat, died of a single gunshot wound in the head. A second gunshot wound in his knee was "very superficial," according to Diane Barnett, a deputy Lucas County coroner.
She ruled the death a homicide.
