A West Toledo man was stabbed in the neck with a knife yesterday and his friend was being held in the Lucas County jail last night on a felonious assault charge, authorities said.

Joshua Jones, 27, of 1851 Brame Pl., was taken to Toledo Hospital. A hospital spokesman said she had no information on a patient by Mr. Jones name.

Timothy Smith, 23, also of the Brame address, is scheduled to be arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Mr. Smith called 911 shortly after 6:40 a.m. and said the two men were in the basement, and that he had cut his friend s throat.

Responding officers saw the men fighting in the living room. Mr. Smith was holding a long gun, which turned out to be a BB gun, to Mr. Jones head, police said.

The men came out of the house and onto the front porch, where Mr. Smith was taken into custody.

Police said the men had been drinking when they got into an argument, possibly about a video game.
