Youth accused of threat at Continental High

CONTINENTAL, Ohio A 14-year-old boy was accused of writing a threat on a rest room wall in Continental High that led authorities to delay school yesterday for two hours.

The boy, whose name was not released, was charged with delinquency in connection with inducing panic, Putnam County Sheriff James Beutler said last night. The boy, who had been bullied by other students, is accused of penciling an undisclosed threat, which was found Tuesday, the sheriff said. He would not say how the threat was traced to the boy, who remained at home last night.

Continental police Chief Arnie Hardy said the threat involved violence and named more than one person.

The sheriff said the student does not have access to items needed to carry out a threat, and there appears to be no immediate danger to the school or any student. The school was to open as scheduled today, and any bookbags brought to the building are to be searched.
