DUNDEE, Mich. A 28-year-old woman and her 34-year-old male passenger were injured last night when the car she was driving northbound on Lloyd Road in Dundee Township struck the guardrail, crossed the center line, and crashed into a southbound vehicle, Monroe County sheriff s deputies said.

The passenger, Michael A. Walker of Dundee, was listed today in critical condition at Toledo Hospital, while the driver, Vanessa S. Beverly, also of Dundee, was in stable condition.

Ms. Beverly was driving northbound on Lloyd, south of Dixon Road, when the vehicle went off the east side of the road, struck a guardrail, and continued to ride along the guardrail until it re-entered the roadway, crossed the center line, slid counterclockwise, and struck the southbound vehicle, deputies said.

Kimberly M. Carlson, 48, of Monroe, was driving the southbound vehicle. Neither her nor her two passengers Marcille Krouger, 81, of Dundee, and Jeffrey R. Carlson, 6, of Monroe were injured.

Deputies said alcohol appears to be a factor.
