2 arrested for paint vandalism at Bowsher

6/2/2007

Two South Toledo teens were arrested yesterday for spray-painting vulgarities on the outside walls and roof of Bowsher High School, police and school officials said.

Nicholas Klohn, 19, of 1715 Glen Valley Drive, and a 17-year-old boy were charged with vandalism after the incident about 12:25 a.m. at 3548 South Detroit Ave., police said.

After being ordered during arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court to stay away from the school, Mr. Klohn was released on a supervised recognizance bond. The teen had a detention hearing in Lucas County Juvenile Court, and his next court date was set for later this month.

Police said, while on routine patrol, they pulled into the school parking lot and saw the teens on the roof. The younger one tried to climb down and throw spray paint into a Dumpster and was taken into custody. Police said they found Mr. Klohn on the roof. Court records indicate damage and cleanup will be more than $500.
