Threat about Davis-Besse investigated

OAK HARBOR, Ohio - The FBI is working with several local law enforcement agencies to investigate a possible threat against the Davis-Besse nuclear power plant in Ottawa County's Carroll Township.

Port Clinton police responded to a local restaurant earlier this week after they were notified that something suspicious had been written on a napkin in reference to the power plant, Ottawa County Sheriff Bob Bratton said.

He said he did not know any more details regarding the incident other than the threat did not appear credible.

FBI Special Agent Scott Smith confirmed that the FBI is investigating the matter. "We're actively pursuing it as we speak," he said.

He said no arrests have been made.

Port Clinton police would not confirm anything except that the police chief would issue a press release this morning regarding the incident.
