TEMPERANCE A 36-year-old Temperance man was arrested yesterday after being accused of choking and stabbing his wife at the NorthTowne Meadows Mobile Home Park, Monroe County sheriff s deputies said.

Eric J. Stark, 36, came home about 2:30 a.m. yesterday and told his wife he needed money to buy some gas, but deputies said Mr. Stark has a history of drug use and that he likely wanted to buy crack cocaine.

After his wife refused to give him the money, Mr. Stark began choking her, deputies said. She escaped by jumping out a window and ran to a neighbor for help.

Mr. Stark grabbed knives from the kitchen and went after her again on the neighbor s porch, where he stabbed her, deputies said. Deputies arrested him yesterday afternoon. The woman, whose name was not released, was treated at the scene, deputies said.
