West Toledo drive-in order turns out to be 'dough to go'

6/26/2007

It's a situation that gives new meaning to placing an order to go.

A man walked up to a drive-through window at a West Toledo fast-food restaurant and left with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. The incident occurred about 3:05 a.m. Sunday at Rally's Hamburgers, 1647 West Laskey Rd., police said.

Officers responded to a hold-up call at the restaurant. An employee told police a man wearing dark clothing walked up to one of the drive-through windows, pointed a small black pistol at him, and told him to be quiet.

The employee said he gave the cash drawer to the man, who placed it in a bookbag the man was carrying before he fled, police said.

Authorities searched the area, but could not find the man.
