West Toledoan facing 25 counts of pornography arraigned

6/29/2007

A West Toledo man charged with 25 counts of child pornography was arraigned yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

David Wilton, 35, of 5405 Fleet Rd. is charged with 21 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and four counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material. He pleaded not guilty to all 25 counts.

Judge Stacy Cook set bond at $50,000 on one count of pandering and supervised recognizance bonds on the remaining charges. She ordered him not to have contact with any children, including his own, and not to use a computer. Mr. Wilton, who was being held in the county jail, will return to court July 30.

Mr. Wilson, a father of three, is accused of downloading thousands of images of children in a state of nudity, masturbation, and children engaging in sexual activity. Toledo police said his computer contained more than 9,000 images as well as movies that were graphic in nature involving children.

Fifteen of the charges carry a maximum term of eight years in prison, if convicted.
