East Toledo man charged in stabbing

An East Toledo man was arrested after he was accused of stabbing another man yesterday near Caledonia and Whittemore streets on the city's east side, police said.
Frank Papio, 38, the stabbing victim, was in fair condition last night in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.
Todd Williams, 42, of 2113 Caledonia, who was charged with felonious assault, was being held in Lucas County jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond set in Toledo Municipal Court.
The stabbing occurred about 2 a.m. in the 2100 block of Caledonia during an altercation between the two men, who reportedly are acquainted, police said.
It was unclear what caused the altercation, police said.
