A fire of a yet undetermined origin destroyed a vacant apartment complex on Galena Street near North Ontario Street in north Toledo overnight, authorities said.
Fire crews responded to the Galena Flats building in the 800 block of Galena about 11:50 last night and found heavy flames. Minutes later, the flames went through the roof, firefighters said.
The crews battled the blaze, without entering the building, until 1:52 this morning, by which time the fire was under control.
The building, which was a total loss, was demolished later this morning. No monetary estimate of the damage was available.
