5 accused of theft from restaurant equipment firm

Five men were arrested yesterday, accused of stealing a truck loaded with equipment from a Toledo restaurant supply company, police said.

Dedric Foster, 31, of 3151 Northwood Ave. and Richard Carter, 42, of 936 Pinewood Ave. were stopped by police about 4:45 a.m. outside Burkett & Sons, 3011 Council St., in a truck that was loaded with about $100,000 in restaurant equipment.

Mr. Foster, who was driving the truck, was charged with breaking and entering, grand theft auto, and theft. Mr. Carter was charged with breaking and entering, theft, and receiving stolen property.

Bryant White, 38, of 155 Austin St.; Muhammad Abu-Shaban, 23, of 1122 North Byrne Rd., and Mohamed Girad, 34, of Redford, Mich., were charged with breaking and entering, theft, and receiving stolen property, police said.

All were being held in the Lucas County jail pending arraignments today in Toledo Municipal Court.
